REC Instructor / Trainer 14.5.18

The REC trainers course is 5 days long, and they are very long days! You will be taught how to become the best possible REC Trainer by two exceptional teachers/mentors: Leo and Jason. Their unique approach developed through years of experience and knowledge brings all the best of coaching processes to the arena of first aid (indeed, this is the subject of Leo's Professional Doctorate currently underway).

The course will be based from our HQ in Carrog, and accommodation is included in the price (as is the homework!). It is extremely beneficial that we are all in the same place morning, noon and night: you will find that it will feel like a “first aid retreat” of full immersion. The course is designed to introduce a systematic method of training candidates to provide emergency care. Topic learning and presentations are intermixed with scenarios of real situations and lots of other relevant useful workshops (where to buy your kit, insurance, marketing yourself etc).

Not only will you leave Aspirant REC Trainers, but you will also qualify with the relevant formal teaching qualification as specified by HSE - in our case an SVQ. We will then mentor you through to your assessment: structure, content and lesson plans if you require, and you will also be able to observe/assist on Getafix courses (a lot of which up and down the UK are not on the website). Of course, when the time comes we'll help you sort out your assessment and send either Leo or Jason to sign you off at an advantageous price.

What you need:
  • to attend a Getafix REC Emergency Level 2 course (included in the Trainers price)
  • to attend a REC Advanced (this can be done post-Trainers course, as part of your ongoing process)
  • a First Aid at Work course (can also be done after the Trainers, but before assessment)
  • Getafix REC Trainers course 5 days
  • to get lesson plans and learning program to us, and then when we're all happy, to REC for approval
  • to observe/assist on courses - as many or as few as you need
  • assessment (you can hire our kit if needed)

You will leave the Trainers course with a comprehensive goal-set Action Plan, following a session with Leo (once a professional athlete, very skilled at this sort of thing!).

Price Includes - accommodation, teas/coffess/biscuits, Trainer's packs, all resources, post-course mentoring and support, registration, SQA F81Y33 Resources and Certificate.

Not included - food, sleep

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or are unsure about anything, and let us know if you don't get a confirmation email in reply to your registration. We'll send you all the relevant joining instructions nearer the time; don't forget to check your Spam box and add office@getafix.com and info@getafix.com to your contacts.

We look forward to seeing you!
