Since its genesis in 2007, Getafix has gained a fantastic reputation through word of mouth – we consistently deliver fantastic courses with flair and passion of which we are very proud.

We have been instrumental in developing both the British Canoeing qualifications and more recently the Rescue Emergency Care scheme for first aid, and have delivered more coaching and leadership courses than any other provider (Pre Covid).  As well as running skills-based courses and coach education we train and assess coaches to deliver WWSR, FSRT, REC first aid, and BC Performance Awards in canoe, kayak, white water and sea.

Having worked with and developed so many people over the years we have been able to hand-pick an eclectic staff team of specialists who share the same vision and ambitions, and who live for what they do. We are also unique in that most of our paddling courses and qualifications can be delivered yn Gymreag if requested.

The Getafix Classroom is based at the Hwb in Bala, North Wales; the epicentre to Welsh rivers, lakes and Estuaries. Our office is in Carrog. We run courses in the UK, Europe and Asia, and our bespoke courses, guiding and expeditions can be arranged for individuals or groups.

Getafix is proud to be involved with Peak UK, Silverbirch Canoes, DAM X, JEM Racing composites, Ruth Lee and Pyranha kayaks and offer all of our students the opportunity to use their latest range of boats, paddles and equipment. We believe having the best equipment is essential to your learning. We are proud to be in partnerships with British businesses.

Our partnerships are important to us: we are pleased to provide a range of training and educational programs for: Asia Pacific Adventure, Acorn Venture, PGL , CMC Pensarn OC, Outward Bound Aberdovey, Denbighshire CC, Zip World, Sayers Croft environmental centre, Gene17, Outdoor Partnership and The Keys Care Group. We also offer technical advice and staff development.
